Who We Are

Our Mission

Our mission is to make disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world. We do this by proclaiming the good news of God’s grace and by carrying out Jesus’ command to love God and to love everyone. (Matthew 28:19-20 and Matthew 22:37-39)

We Believe

• God is manifest in three Persons – Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
• Sin separates us from the Father and the only way back to reconciliation with God is through a Savior.
• Jesus Christ is the Son of God, who, though sinless, took sin upon Himself as a substitute for us. He was crucified, buried, and resurrected from the dead and continues to live today with the Father in heaven.
• In the salvation of all who trust the Lord Jesus Christ and the eternal separation from God for all who reject Him.
• The Holy Spirit lives in each believer of Jesus Christ and provides guidance and wisdom to live like Christ.
• In the bodily Second Coming of Jesus to claim His own people and to set all things in order.
• The Holy Bible is the inspired Word of God written by man and is the final authority for our faith and practice.
• The church is the community of believers in Jesus Christ as the Redeemer. They sometimes meet in a building!

Our Journey: Believe – Belong – Become

In 1953, Christ United Methodist Church opened its doors as a small, upstart church with a dream of becoming a welcoming church to the surrounding community. Today, through the grace of God, our church stands strong as a vital and growing community of faith, unafraid to embrace the changing world and all of its inhabitants.

Christ UMC has a big dream of becoming a church that welcomes all people. Whether you are a life-long Christian, or are merely curious about church and the things of God, we seek to be a place where everyone can join together in a loving, non-judgmental, and welcoming community,

• Where new people visit and find a place to learn, discuss and challenge each other as they come to Believe;
• Where they feel welcomed and come to Belong to a community where they know and share God’s unending love; and
• Where they discover a place to find hope, restoration, and joy as they Become a disciple of Jesus Christ, sharing God’s love in the world through service to the community.
