Our Leadership Team
“…serve one another with whatever gift each of you has received.” 1 Peter 4:10
It is our desire to honor God through our work. To that end, we will do God’s work with the qualities we most value: integrity, grace, excellence, relevance, authenticity, passion, humility, faith, inclusivity, commitment, joy and love.

Mission of the Leadership Board
To ensure the purpose and vision of Christ UMC is defined, protected, and promoted.
What is the Leadership Board?
At the highest level, Christ UMC is governed by our entire body of membership, with meetings held annually and when important matters arise. Throughout the year, the Leadership Board acts as the executive agency of the church, providing strategic leadership, setting important policy and monitoring the performance of church’s ministries and campus.
Why a Leadership Board?
A church needs a good support system just as a home needs a strong foundation. That foundation involves staying as accountable as possible so that the most people can spend their time in hands-on ministry. Releasing people from their obligations to sit in committee meetings gives them more opportunities to be in ministry.
Christ UMC is located in midtown Newport News between J. Clyde Morris Blvd and Oyster Point Rd. We're just a few minutes from Christopher Newport University.
